Choosing an Adult Coloring Book: Points to consider

  • Does it stand by itself as a work of art?
  • Will the pages warp with watercolor or oil paints?
  • Does each work occupy a single page? Coloring books with work that span two pages might present some challenges when coloring portions near the spine.
  • Will the pages flake off easily?
  • Can you easily detach a page if you want to?
  • Are the pages acid-free/durable?
  • Is it above your skill level?
  • Would you buy more than one of the same copy to test with different crayons/pencils/paints/markers etc?
  • Do you you feel that this all just a fad?
  • Will this just add to all the other books you’ve never opened since buying them?
