Me And My Other Me—Old And Young Selves Illustrations By Fulvio Obregon

by . September 18th, 2015

The only permanent thing in the world is change.

FEELS

Sappy intros aside, we all change both in appearance and sensibilities as time passes. Wouldn’t it be nice to see yourself side by side with your older or younger self?

This is the concept of Colombia-based graphic designer Fulvio Obregon in his project YO & MI OTRO YO (ME & MY OTHER ME).

“This project is a series of illustrations of celebrities, where each occupies the same place in the ‘I’ past with its present ‘I’,” said Fulvio in Spanish.

Aside from the concept, what makes Fulvio’s illustrations fascinating are the small details contained in each picture. “Each character has some detail of what has been essentially along their respective career, life or profession,” he continued.

Fulvio was inspired after seeing a published photo of one of his cousins depicting herself and her younger self. His subjects included tech giants Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, musicians Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger, and gangster actors Al Pacino and Robert de Niro.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Kevin is a reader first, a writer second, and a gamer somewhere in between. When not rooting for Tyrion Lannister for the Iron Throne, he's probably writing some morbid short story. He enjoys some surreal art, clever advertising campaigns, and a warm cup of coffee while reading Murakami.
