No longer promoting movies and events, these amazing posters are now taking center stage in a traveling show.

During its conception, posters have become one of the mainstays in terms of promoting and embodying an event. With the National Poster Retrospecticus, various posters as well as their makers are taking the spotlight. The National Poster Retrospecticus or NPR is a traveling show that showcases more than 300 hand-printed posters.

These 300 plus posters are made by prominent designers and artists such as Aaron Draplin, Daniel Danger, DKNG, Tara McPherson and Aesthetic Apparatus. Posters made for bands such as Phish, Wilco, Modest Mouse and more are among the hundreds of posters that will be displayed to the public. What’s more amazing is that the event will be open and free of charge.

The NPR dates as far back as 2006, but the change in the event’s format happened in spring of 2012. The show’s mission is to celebrate posters’ hand-made aesthetic goodness. On top of that, the traveling poster show aims to spread the enthusiasm around the world.

Check out some of the amazing poster creations that will be a part of the exhibit:
