alright this is a for a school project. a logo for a law firm. they are in their last year of law school and want to start their own firm. they want something clean professional with and appearance of being established. we was told they want to be able to compete with "the old white guys". this logo is going to go on letterheads, business cards, an office sign, and envelopes. ive been working on it over the weekend and this is one of the ideas (out of a bunch) that i finally liked. this project is due tuesday. thoughts opinions? ideas to make it better?

it will be in color and black and white

You are wanting to go for clean and professional, so I would suggest to do something with the "HAB". It is too jumbled together and messy. It seems that they may be overlapping too much.

Or, you could try a different font. I will be checking back in to see if you post anything different. I hope this helps.

this is kind of what I ended up going with. however im still open to changes.

The HAB looks a lot better. If you don't mind me asking, what made you choose these colors?

and of course the right side gets cut off :/

well, the colors were given to me in the brief, i just basically started playing around with different combinations

Nice work but can be much better if you use another font face and placement can be better. Also between shape and your fonts should be some sort of similarity. Looks like the parts are separate.

Another part that came to my attention that where end of red triangle touches the font.

I agree as well. You wouldn't want the line overlapping with the text because it can become hard to read. Also, do you think that it would be beneficial to place a "&" between Alvis and Billingsley?
