Successful website stories point on very important factor that is a number of returning visitors. Websites rely on returning visitors that account for a major part of their traffic. It is easier to convert a returning audience into paying customers as a result of the more often they tend to return to a site, whether it is a blog or an online shop, the more trust they gain on each visit. What do ou think which methods are the best to keep your visitors coming back?
1) Running a forum or a chatroom
2) Running a blog
3) Doing polls and surveys
4) Having onine-games
5) Frequently updating the content
I think number 5 is the best way to encourage visitors to return back to your website. Updating your content more often by sharing interesting and useful information to your readers is very effective.
Another way is through social media promotions. Create accounts/groups of your website in different social networks. Increase your connections and always interact with your followers.
Good point Francesca, I also think unique and interesting content is good for people visiting our website as well as for search engines. People will enjoy coming back as they would always find domething to read, whereas search engines will pick up your unique content, and so your website will be more visible to people and easier to reach.
Social networking is also a great tool of promotion, which I have started recently.
I am not sure if visitors like surveys, unless there is some thing in for them
Surveys are really good for finding what people's opinions are, aren't they? They must be targeted to your website audience. Thanks Saya
If you can make your site/product/service stand out from the others and offer something better or something others can't, that may also bring people back.
