Right now I have a online portfolio. The domain name is from godaddy, the hoasting from zymic, and the ad's and email is taken care of google. It's a lot to keep track of and though zymic is free and I don't want to complain I find it is a bit slow.

So what do you guys use? Do you like the service you receive?

Every free hosting has its limitations. My other online friends who uses zymic finds it slow too and switched to paid hosting instead. As for me, my site is hosted via hostbig.com. It's not free, but it offers cheap hosting and its services are just as good as the expensive ones.
We use dreamhost for YouTheDesigner. Bluehost and LunarPages are not bad. Might also consider Media Temple.
Aye, I tend to avoid free hosting, simply not woth the hastle considering how cheap it is anyways.

I always hated looking for a host, its a minefield, for some reason I use one.com for everything, Can't remember what initially took me to them, but its cheap enough, not really had any issues, and when I have their support has been spot on.
Hi :)

I too use One.com and like Andy, I havn't a clue why I originally decided to go with them. The prices are pretty reasonable. The first year costs around £11 for 3GB of hosting, Unlimited Transfer, And a domain. Then the next year it goes up slightly, and it costs around £25 a year.
I've used bluehost.com for years for both domains and hosting. Their prices are really very reasonable when you consider everything that is included with your hosting. I rarely have problems with them but the one or two times that I have had a problem their customer service was awesome and very quick to get back to me.
I am using blacknight.com and it is great. It is like 50 euro a year but it is worth it. I can install worpress, joomla or drupal. Have all the statistics. Email with my domain name witch is good for bussines. I am really happy with quality of services they provide.
Thanks to everyone for the ideas, and suggestions. Free hosting is a nice offer, but I think I will pay for my website as well. I'm glad I waited though, I did all the tweaking and fixing of my site while not worrying about the price. I'm gonna go check out the hosts you guys suggested.
Web Hosting Pad, all I need to $2 a month
I use webs.com, it is a free web hosting site, here you can also find free designing tools with good and attractive templates.

I use 1and1.com for all my hosting needs. I have been around the block a bit and stopped at 1and1 once I realized they had good customer service and reasonable prices plus severs were speedy. I get my domains and hosting from them to keep things simple to manage. For email, I rely on Gmail account that is setup with my personal domains from that 1and1 account. Gmail has some of the best spam filters and some of the best features for free email... even if Google is considered evil. It will most likely beat any hosting service email offering in features and speed.

I had a client who was using Godaddy hosting and I hated it. It was slow and hard to get to the parameters I wanted to change on the server side. It took me ages to setup a Joomla site for the client because of the sluggishness and the client complained about the speed too on the front-end. I had another friend that also noticed this with his Godaddy hosting. So, I have learned that the most hyped is not always the best bet in my humble opinion.

I've been using BlueHost for about three years now - that is after trying a LOT of other hosting and domain service providers. BlueHost has everything you can ask for in a host, it is slightly expensive than many other services out there, but its good.

I've used GoDaddy, the only good thing about it is that its cheaper, but the panel and service is a model for what you SHOULDN'T do when you develop a custom control panel, its a user interface hazard to say the least.

You have no guarantee of service in free hosting, I was using Freebee hosting for a long time, then they shutdown suddenly, they were kind enough to give a month's notice, but most free hosts don't even do that, sometimes they might even hold your files hostage for buying premium service from them.

I use ipage. not free but affordable. i am happy with ipage. the have many options to choose from.
