Unfortunately, I have not been on here in a while, but I am definitely trying to get back into it. Anyways, I would like to see if you guys can take the time to check out my website and give me some feedback on the site and the design work that I have. I have recently completed my site and am still learning new things about web design.

Hereit is.

So far so good Elizabeth. I like the creative concept especially what you did for the design of the home page. I just can't find the navigation links (like going back to the homepage when I'm in the "designs" page). I would also recommend to place some little descriptions below each of your designs such as materials used or some background each of them. :)

I agree with Douglas. Once I went to see your designs, I couldn't get back to see other categories or the home page. I would at least make your logo in the upper left corner of the portfolio click back to the main home page. It's a pretty standard thing to link logos back the initial home page. I'd say it's a good start but just work on the navigation a bit more.

I like how your home page is very visual. I have a suggestion: you can make some of the words you use in your home page linked to pages that makes sense ( like design to portfolio) Also I think it is better to think about the message you want to send by using these words ( not just name and a designer) a little bit more narrower market

Good job though

Hi Elizabeth,

A few things: first, I agree with Douglas and Dean's comments about the navigation. Visitors should never have to use the 'Back' button, so you should find a solution for that. I prefer to have the main nav available anywhere on the site, but at the very least you should have a link back to your homepage. Second, I would get rid of the kid with McD's cup and zombie images in your design portfolio. The image of the kid looks too much like a quick "Live Trace" in Illustrator or "Cutout" filter in Photoshop — it just doesn't look like a true illustration. The image of the zombie would be good if it was executed a bit better. That sort of Photoshop work takes big skills to pull off successfully, and I just don't think it's powerful enough to 'wow' anyone. Last, I like the homepage graphic "My Name is Liz...", but I would lose the drop shadows. That effect really should be used in moderation, and I just think it would look better without it. Other than those 3 things, great job. By the way, the bridge photos are really nice.

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I will definitely work on it.
