I designed this movie poster as a portfolio piece. I got the inspiration after some really bad wild fires in my area. I just got to thinking about the brave firefighters that battle this wild element of warmth and destruction.

Let me know your opinions. Thanks

This might be a little late - but I wanted to share my thoughts :)

Overall it is pretty good, just a few comments: I'm not sure if the filter you use for the trees is the best fit. It works, but something more realistic might look a little bit better. The credits at the bottom of the page are a little hard to read, maybe try playing around with a drop shadow to increase the readability. Lastly, a more seamless transition between the firefighters and the trees would help the flow of your poster.

great poster. i think a bold title like WILD FIRE should be bigger and bolder. this is true for posters in general. here is a quick chop-n-crop preview, --but just to get the general idea across, something more like this:

also --just an fyi-- you can use font viewers and font websites to type in something, and see your exact words in thousands of different font previews. sometimes i'll explore hundreds of typefaces like this. for example, dafont.com:

also, when doing headlines as large as posters, you want to take extra care for tracking and kerning on large text, it is often best to convert the text to outlines, and manualy adjust the letterspacing using the arrow keys. you can also adjust how much the arrows move the text, if a point it too much, change the preferences to make it less. the small text at the bottom would probably read fine when blown up to a full poster size. (36"x72").

great poster overall. hope your friends and neighbors are o.k.

It is a very creative concept. I suggest to work on the connection between top ( profiles ) and (Trees), there are better ways to connect them better. Now just a shade of black overlays on trees. May be some lights goes into or behind profiles, and texture between top and bottom needs to somehow get connect.

It very eye catchy and nice already above are just some comments.

Keep up your good work

I was thinking it might mask a bit of the harsh transition if you moved the big title 'WILD FIRE' to in between the trees and firefighters and moved the subtitle down a bit more. Don't be afraid of white space. It can really help to balance --- especially in a poster.

Hi. The part of the credits on your poster is call Billing Block and I Think It'll look better on Univers or Bee which are the fonts that are use the most for that part on a poster. take a look at this free dupe of the font at dafont.com

Just a thought something to try is using lower opacity to blend the firefighters into the trees. I like the suggestion by Bonnie about using the title to break up the transition but with a full poster image of the trees this could work really well!
