Sticky tape and packaging tape are usually used for two simple things: patching things up and keeping things intact. Most of the time, we consider things that are patched up by sticky tape as something that’s old, worn out and of course broken; so we usually try to hide them in plain sight.
But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One of the challenges of being creative, graphic designers to be specific is for you to find and bring out the beauty in even the most mundane objects around you.
