Surreal Saturday – The Dreamy Illustrations of Victo Ngai

by . February 23rd, 2013

It was in early 1920’s when the art of Surrealism began as a cultural movement which is best known as visual artworks that feature the elements of surprise, combined random objects and unexpected juxtaposition.  Aside from visual art, this cultural movement encompasses various fields which include music, literature, film, poetry and sculpture.

Modern surrealism in visual form are now widely used not just in traditional paintings but as well as  in digital illustration, web design and photography. Surreal artists are very much interested with the subconscious; dreams and hallucinations that play in their minds and as a way of expressing emotions. This form of art are oftentimes dreamy or gritty; can be optimistic and sometimes depressing.
