The Moleskine Smart Notebook

by . November 26th, 2014

The innovation that instantly transforms hand-drawn sketches on paper into workable vector images.

This Creative Cloud-connected Moleskine smart notebook simplifies the creative process of working from traditional to digital media. A collaboration between Adobe and Moleskine, this new development offers users a smart notebook for sketching and a mobile companion app to sync your files to the Creative Cloud — this allows you to refine the images in Adobe Photoshop CC or Adobe Illustrator CC, bridging the gap between the analog and digital world. It is powered by the new Adobe Creative SDK software toolkit that allows companies to smoothly link their projects and services to Adobe Creative Cloud.

How It Works

Draw your ideas in the Moleskine Smart Notebook and capture an image using the companion app available for free (iPhone only. Sorry, Android users). The image is then uploaded to your Adobe Creative Cloud account in two different file formats—jpg and svg—which can be polished further in Photoshop or Illustrator. The corners of the notebook feature page markers that aid in the pre-processing and optimization of the vector image.

The ultimate goal of this offering is to enable “creativity on the move” and capture the first spark of ideas. This way, the portable Moleskine notebook allows creatives to immediately sketch their ideas, wherever and whenever they are, and work on them further as soon as they get back in their studios.
