by . August 19th, 2014

Guy Whitby, aka WorkByKnight is an artist based in Australia who makes art using various pieces of buttons that can be found in different electronics such as keyboards, typewriters, phones and calculators. He uses photo manipulation techniques to produce each piece, making sure to fill each pixel with a different key or button. With these simple tools, Whitby revived the image of popular musicians, celebrities and political figures.

“I want my art to reflect the age I’m living in. The hand made days are gone. Our food, our clothes, our furniture, our homes, our lives are manufactured. Life is factory made.”

Guy Whitby’s gallery has nearly 1,000 images made of computer keys and a mix of analog and digital buttons – in addition to portraits made of actual buttons.
