Ivan Belikov, who calls himself “Further Up”, is a 22-year old freelance illustrator from Chelyabinsk, Russia. As a child, he spent all his free time by drawing and his dream job was to be an animator because he was very fond of animation back then. He used to draw comics and create characters in his notebooks when he was at art school. Illustration is the form of art that he is attracted the most. He said that being able to select visual images to interpret certain ideas excited him very much. Aside from illustrations, Ivan also creates t-shirt designs, posters and cover designs for albums. Beasts, feathers and grass are his favorite things to put on his artworks. (Russian illustrator Ivan Belikov)
One of his latest projects is called “Social Networks”. It is a personal series of illustrations about the following social networks: Twitter, Instagram, Dribble, Tumblr, Facebook, and Vkontakte. The series is an interpretation of how Ivan sees social media nowadays ( e.g. The dead blue bird of Twitter may mean that social media causes damage to our lives).
