Do you love butterflies? Do their big and colorful flappy wings amaze you when you see them flying? What about if their wings had a message for you?
Andrea Preis a designer, artist and illustrator who is currently living and working in Berlin. He made a personal project called “The Butterfly Effect”. He created these beautiful butterflies by hand-drawing them and cutting them out from a paper. Andreas Preis thought of spreading it out across the city because it might be a good motivation for people who see them. These butterflies incorporate different messages on their butterfly wings. He made a new series for his recent butterfly project which he now called “The Butterfly Effect/Street Edition”.
Even it took too much time for him to create these butterflies. It still went well for him to finally find a technique to produce them and it’s finally done! See how he made it.
It’s pretty awesome that there are more than 1000 butterflies spreading messages every part of Berlin and other German cities. He usually gives them away by visiting and handing it out in bars, restaurants, exhibitions, on bikes and much more. One of Andrea Preis goals for this project is to make people smile. I’m sure that he’s very successful in executing it.
