The Never-ending Fan Art Tributes to Disney Princesses

by . October 2nd, 2013

Fan art is one of the most popular ways of practicing one’s creative skill and develop a unique style in either traditional or digital mediums. It is an artist’s own way of interpreting a popular fictional character either from novels, movies, television, comics or video games. To date, we have encountered numerous fan artworks that became viral over the Internet. And most of the recent works that dominate blogs and online art communities were derived from a common theme – Disney Princesses.

We see our childhood fairy tales now retold as TV series, 3D animations and even live action films. The art community of course is getting the most out of this trend through various fan artworks re-imagining the Disney Princesses in almost every other fictional universes or combined with other pop culture trends.

The popularity of the characters and the fact that this theme appeals to a wide range of audience is one reason why artists especially those who wish to introduce their own art style are creating their own take of the Disney princesses. It can be through fan art drawing, photography, animation, typography and even cosplay and memes.

In the selection below, we collected some of our favorite fan art attempts of the Disney princesses, from awesome drawings and illustrations to cool and funny crossovers in other pop culture universes we never thought even possible. This only proves that in art, anything imaginable can be put into reality. Take a look and enjoy!
